The Neurogenesis and Brain Tumors Laboratory at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville, led by Hugo Guerrero Cazares, M.D., Ph.D., investigates how the human neurogenic niche interacts with brain tumors. The lab primarily conducts in vitro, in vivo, and ex vivo studies on glioblastoma multiforme -the most common, aggressive, and fast-growing primary brain tumor in adults- as well as on the migration of neural progenitor cells in humans.
